Lailatul Zubaidah’s career trajectory is marked by a remarkable blend of legal expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and dedication to societal advancement. After being called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2001, she embarked on a journey that saw her intern at firms in Singapore and Malaysia.

As the Founding Partner of LZ Hussain & Co., Zubaidah has demonstrated her leadership acumen in legal practice. Additionally, she established Damai Mediation, Brunei Darussalam’s pioneering mediation practice, offering both services and accreditation. Her role as the Brunei Resident Representative of ADR ODR International underscores her global influence in alternative dispute
resolution.

Beyond the legal arena, Zubaidah has made significant strides in healthcare as the Managing Director of Elfera Health & Nursing Care Sdn Bhd, providing essential services to families in the community. Her recent ventures into education, including consultancy at Sapphire Academy and board memberships at Miftah Islamic International School and Ehsan Education Sdn Bhd, highlight her commitment to nurturing future generations.

Her philanthropic efforts extend to The IMPIAN Project, a non-profit organization she founded to support the special needs community, showcasing her dedication to societal welfare. With her extensive experience across diverse industries, Zubaidah brings invaluable insights and leadership to her role as Managing Director at Niaga Compliance, where she provides strategic guidance in corporate secretarial and advisory matters.

Safina Hamid

Director
Safina Hamid is a legal professional and business leader with a strong commitment to social causes. Graduating with Honours from the University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom, in 2009, she earned her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, setting the foundation for her remarkable career. Following her academic success, Safina was admitted as a Barrister-at-Law (Middle Temple) in 2010, after completing her Bar Vocational Course at BPP London.

Currently serving as the Managing Partner at LZ Hussain & Co., Safina plays a pivotal role in overseeing legal operations. Additionally, she holds directorial positions in various sectors, including the oil & gas industry, as a Director at Brudesh Engineering Sdn Bhd, and the food and beverage sector, where she serves as Director at Tasconi’s International and Partner at Ebb & Flow Coffee Roastery. Her diverse involvement reflects her versatility and leadership in different domains.

Beyond her corporate engagements, Safina also has a dedication for social causes, particularly focusing on the rights of women and children. As a Director at Niaga Compliance, she extends her legal expertise to offer guidance to businesses and MSMEs, contributing to their growth and compliance needs.

One of Safina’s notable contributions to society is her involvement with Project Women Brunei, a not- for-profit social enterprise dedicated to educating, engaging, and empowering women and girls in their development journey. Shahyzul Rahman

Shahyzul Rahman, a graduate of the London School of Economics & Political Science with an LLB in Laws, boasts a distinguished legal career. Admitted to the English Bar at Middle Temple in 2010, he furthered his education with an LLM in International Commercial Law from University College London in 2017. With vast experience spanning the public and private sectors, Shahyzul now serves as the Senior Partner at LZ Hussain & Co.

Committed to social responsibility, Shahyzul is dedicated towards facilitating success for young entrepreneurs and MSMEs with a focus on future-proofing and
maximising gains through the use of technology.

As a Director at Niaga Compliance, Shahyzul leverages his extensive experience to provide strategic business guidance. Outside of his legal pursuits, he indulges his passion for baking and contributes to the food and beverage industry as a baker at Rise by Tilong Bites (IG: Rise.BN)

Firdaus Rahman

As the Founder and President of the Brunei-China Friendship Association, Firdaus has played a pivotal role in fostering international relations and collaboration between the two nations.

Previously serving as the Secretary General for the Chinese Chambers of Commerce, Firdaus demonstrated his prowess in navigating the intricate landscapes of business and commerce. His strategic insights and diplomatic acumen have been particularly evident in his involvement in foreign exchange and business networking initiatives among ASEAN and Chinese enterprises.

In the academic realm, Firdaus holds the position of Visiting Professor at South-East University, a prestigious institution in China. Shu Vun graduated from King’s College London in 2009 with a Bachelors of Law (LLB) degree (Upper Second). She was admitted as a Barrister-at-Law (Middle Temple) upon completing her Bar Vocational Course in 2010.

Shu Vun’s corporate advisory role extends to advising corporations of all sizes, spanning industries such as oil and gas, telecommunications, banking, insurance, and food and beverage.

In her capacity as Director at Niaga Compliance, Shu Vun brings her extensive corporate knowledge to the table, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing strategic guidance to clients. With her upcoming certification as a mediator, Shu Vun is poised to further enhance Niaga Compliance’s offerings, facilitating effective conflict resolution and fostering positive client relationships.

With 32 years of experience holding senior positions in the government sector, Zuraidah brings extensive expertise in policy and strategy development to Niaga Compliance. Her previous roles as Director of Policy Planning and International, and Ministry’s Head of Corporate Communications, have honed her skills in stakeholder collaboration. A strong believer in government-to-business-to-citizen (G2B2C) communications, Zuraidah’s exposure to regional and international forums has allowed her to formulate effective policies and strategies, and to propose operational frameworks for more efficient and progressive implementation.
